Bistro Aprons are a French Invention so it should come as no surprise that they are used in many 'upper crust' French Restaurants: if you get to peak into the kitchen that is. However, the bistro apron has been around for many years, so don't be surprised to see it outside of French establishments.

The Bistro Apron is used in many restaurants and hotels seeking to add a touch of class to their server uniforms.

Bistro Aprons are mainly used in restaurants, both by chefs and as a uniform for servers. They typically have one or more pockets. Our SA-BI39P which is a European style bistro apron is an example of a one pocket bistro apron. If you’re ordering restaurant uniforms, than specialty bistro aprons should definitely be something that you investigate, especially if you’re going for a very formal upper class atmosphere.

Because Bistro Aprons are typically used as restaurant uniforms, they have pockets suited to the task. As an example, the pocket in the SA-BI39P can comfortably house many types of order pads (check the dimensions in the product description in order to be sure the pad that you use will fit).

The Specialty Bistro Apron is meant to be used primarily as a restaurant apron in a more formal restaurant setting. You will tend to find waist aprons in less formal restaurants).White and Black are the two most used bistro apron colors and both are very appropriate for a classically upper level establishment.

Some might argue that they are the most appropriate to a formal restaurant setting, but we disagree with the idea of trampling on someone’s artistic freedom. If you need a Specialty Bistro Apron in a different color, let us know! Just because we don’t offer it as part of our basic inventory, doesn’t mean that we don’t offer it. If there is enough demand for a color, we could definitely add it.
