This is actually a pretty cool arts and crafts project that you may want to try at home.
We took old newspapers, tore them up, put them in bowls with water, and mashed the wet paper strips with our hands. After it was nice and mushy, we added a bit of regular white Elmer’s glue and food coloring to the mix and then we mashed it some more.
We took the wet, sticky, colorful gunk that resulted and spread it over wire meshes (the type you use to keep insects out of your house) and let it sit out to dry.
When we came back the next day, we had our own handmade, colorful paper. It was a good thing we had aprons, specifically bib aprons, because we were messy, very messy. Thanks to the aprons,we walked out of the room with clean clothes.
